Where have all the books gone?
Okay, another year has rolled in and it seems that each year the beginning of the school year signals the start of my year. Football is in the air. For me it is also the time when I get e-mails and texts with inquiries into writings I have produced over the years.
Most want to know about the poetry although some inquire about the plays and the three unpublised novels waiting to see the light of day in printed form. No days so much is done via e-form that I had not realized that I had not purchased a book in several years.
You remember when you walked to the bookstore and walked the aisles until you found that one special book. For me it was more like finding 5-6 books ranging from poetry, non-fiction, auto-bios, plays, architech or photo coffee table books.
While on a recent business trip, I purchased my first book in several years. Funny, it was not even in a bookstore but a Dollar Tree store. A dollar store. The book was Man in the Middle by John Amaechi. It's a good book so far.
Oh yea! Now that I think of it I did purchase 15 or more Bible for students of Moore Chapel CME Church during Vacation Bible School. I thought it would be good since most of the kids did not have bibles. How could I teach them something when there was only 3 Bibles including mine.

Being a writer, as I am, we are compelled to write. Being a poet, as I am, these Kirbyville Wildcats successes compels me to put into verse what it means to be a Kirbyville Wildcat Class of 1977.

My first manuscript to be available of literary works drew the attention of many over the past several years. Some pieces were written over love; lost love; love never had and love to never be. Escapism at its best, its’ rarest form of simplicity. Never have I been more determined to succeed with presenting these words to my family, friends, co-workers and those who shall read the words contained within.
Left photo shows me, Josh and internationally reknown, writer, author, playwright, lecturer and social activist Walter Mosley. Later I will put up a print of an artwork of his from the Little Yellow Dog era.
Some pieces were written with specific ideologies of persons known and of those who have gon
e before us. It is not the intentions of this writer to place sexism or bias influences within the minds of those whose eyes shall be placed upon these words. But more so to allow the masses to access the spoken words, thoughts and feelings which otherwise would go unnoticed, unfelt.
I hold no trifling beliefs of escapism as being unrealistic. For is it not better to know that such things exist than to live a thousand years and only think that they do not.
For those who this collected works brings delight, pleasure and increased awareness, a difference shall forever be in your future. For those who hold crossed or mixed emotions for what is within, one can only hope that the enclosed words shall shed some light on a path for you that has been otherwise cloudy, dreadful and dead-ending.
Accept what is for you, do not what is. First and foremost always remember: only you can make a difference. The only thing that makes each of us different is the difference.
